Marlborough shopping

If shopping floats your boat, then prepare to cruise. Quite simply, Marlborough is to shopping (especially fashion), what Chanel is to perfume and green is to Wellies.

Eating in Marlborough

Within reason, whatever your preference may be, you can probably exercise it in Marlborough. There's no shortage of choice — fine dining, fast food, pub grub, deli-style made-to-measure sandwiches — you'll find it here.

It would be a shame to come to Marlborough for a couple of days and not to see some of the area's other nearby towns, villages and attractions.

Pewsey (yes the village sitting in the heart of the famous and beautiful Pewsey Vale) is a 15-minute drive to the south of town; drive west from Marlborough for 25 minutes or so and you'll find the historic market town of Devizes. Ramsbury and Aldborne lay to the north east of Marlborough and the pleasant town of Hungerford (Berkshire) is due east and 20 minutes along the A4.

Incidentally, there is no Tourist Information Centre in Marlborough, but you should be able to find all you need to know about the town on this website.

If you like to make contact with nature every now and then, then you might find a picnic in order at Postern Hill, which is a 5-minute drive away, or the beech trees of West Woods in nearby Lockeridge.

There are two National Nature Reserves in the area - Fyfield Down and Pewsey Downs.
